Recreational Outrage

I haven’t blogged in over ten years and am just coming back to writing again. As such, I’m not yet familiar with all the different places I could cross-post. Substack was recommended, and if you blog WordPress, it’s ridiculously simple to port your content over in a few clicks. I had heard about Medium. I had been following Dr. Avi Loeb’s blog on the 3i/ATLAS object, and that is the platform that he uses. Medium makes it more difficult to bring over content, but not so difficult it couldn’t be done in 5 minutes.

Within an hour or two, I got an email from Medium’s “Trust and Safety” team, notifying me that my account was suspended for “misgendering, dead-naming, claims that transgender individuals are not their gender identity (“trans women are men”), or erroneous claims based on disinformation or pseudoscience“. Well fuck me sideways and call me Suzie, PSUEDOSCIENCE? It was in regards to An Open Letter to Western Leftists , in particular:

We hear you when you say men can become women. We believe that even though a man may really, really, really want to be a woman, and even though he might wear women’s clothing, have cosmetic surgery, and believe himself to be an actual woman, he is not, in actual fact, a woman. We find it confusing why anti-vaxxers are (insert vicious adjective here) for ignoring basic science, but believing someone with a Y-chromosome hard-coded into every cell his body has, had, or ever will have is scientifically sound. We hear you say gender is a social construct, we just disagree. We think a trans man is a trans man. We’re not phobic. We don’t fear trans people; we just believe that gender is a hard scientific fact, and we’re not going to suddenly say that it isn’t just to conform.

Nothing hateful, nothing over the top, just a flat refusal to deny reality. I didn’t say, oh, I dunno, being trans is a fringe fetish cosplay acted out by people who have a mental health disorder. I didn’t say that to cheer a man putting on a sailor moon costume to go walking around women’s secure spaces is disgustingly gross negligence with respect to women’s safety. I didn’t say they are intellectual cuckolds, watching from the sidelines as a group of delusional men dressed in slutty women’s clothing run a train on your brain. I didn’t say any of those things, but I wanted to.

Censorship. It’s the weapon of the Left as it always has been. Trotsky said: “In the interests of the revolution, the proletariat can restrict the freedom of speech of political opponents.” What the revolution is for is unclear; all anyone participating knows is that it is the most important thing ever. Diversity of thought is extremely limited on the Left, due mostly to the aggressive censorship of any idea not approved for the groupthink. Sound like hyperbole? It isn’t. Suffering of Palestinians: angry protests for months. Suffering of Iranians: (crickets). These aren’t people of principle, they’re brainwashed and deprived of outside opinion. When they can’t censor by deprival, they censor by threat and intimidation.

Censorship controls what information you have access to as part of an effort to make you think as people in power want you to think. It has been used by nearly every totalitarian and dictatorial regime of the modern age. In Europe, people are being arrested and jailed for their speech and social media posts for saying things much like that which got me suspended from Medium. Supporting genocide is hate speech, unless it’s about white people, then Harvard writes about it along with many, many others. Literal genocide, as in “Abolish the White race”. Let’s not forget how people who questioned the COVID-19 response were locked out of the systems people rely on, even violently arrested. Platforms like YouTube demonetized or deleted videos questioning vaccine mandates in 2021, often at the urging of Democratic officials, while allowing misinformation from favored sources. Dr. Jay Bhattacharya was shadowbanned for Stanford studies on lockdown harms.

And If you really make a strong argument against the groupthink, you may get shot in the neck.

Censorship is the Big Bad. Any party that censors information is not “the good guys”. At all. Ever.

In a world where information is power, censorship isn’t protection – it’s control. Whether it’s Big Tech silencing dissent on COVID, campuses enforcing ‘safe spaces’ that exclude uncomfortable truths, or governments jailing people for memes, the far-left’s Orwellian playbook is alive and in full swing. True progress comes from open debate, not echo chambers. If we let any side dictate ‘acceptable’ speech, we all lose.
